From reservation to hitting the ski slopes: what to expect when you book with Ski Magic:
- Choose your chalet and dates from our chalet collection
- Check what’s included or get in touch to ask a question
- Click ‘Hold Chalet’ to hold your rooms for 48 hours (no payment at this stage)
- To confirm, pay a deposit of 25% via your ‘mychaletbooking’ account login
- The balance payment is due 10 weeks before your arrival in resort.
- Add your group’s details, add airport transfers or ski hire and order your lift passes.
- When you arrive in resort, our team will welcome you to your chalet for your holiday!
Is the Three Valleys a good destination for a ski holiday?
Yes! The Three Valleys in France is one of the world’s very best places to ski. As the world’s largest ski area, there is a huge variety of runs for all levels, an efficient and well-signposted lift system and amazing scenery and apres-ski activities.
Which ski resorts are in the Three Valleys?
Meribel, Courchevel and Val Thorens are the three ski resorts within the Three Valleys. There’s also a link to a fourth valley, called Orelle!
Within each of these ski areas are smaller village resorts such as Courchevel Le Praz, La Tania, Courchevel Village, Moriond and 1850 in Courchevel. In Meribel, there is the main centre with lots of chalets, bars, restaurants etc. and smaller village resorts of Mottaret and Meribel Village, and Les Allues. In the Belleville Valley, Val Thorens is the highest altitude resort, and there is also Les Menuires and Saint Martin de Belleville.
All these villages and resorts are covered on one ski pass: the Three Valleys pass, which offers 600km of linked ski runs up to 3200m altitude.
What kind of accommodation is there in the Three Valleys?
The Three Valleys ski resorts feature hotels, apartments and a huge number of ski chalets. Lots of hotels and chalets offer a half-board service, or you can choose to go self-catered or B&B style.
Why choose a ski chalet over a hotel or apartment?
If you choose a ski chalet, it becomes your home for the week, so you can relax and take full advantage of having a place to yourself, rather like a villa in a summer resort.
Usually, chalets have a ski and boot room to leave your equipment overnight which is convenient. Chalets often have an outdoor hot tub on the terrace, and a cosy atmosphere with a log fire or wood burner. Most chalets in the Three Valleys are close to the slopes and have wonderful mountain views.
Is the Three Valleys expensive to stay in?
Just like any holiday destination, there are good value places from which to enjoy more famous and popular locations!
If you want to experience the amazing Three Valleys ski area, there are many good value accommodation options in La Tania, Le Praz, Meribel and Les Menuires or Val Thorens. A catered chalet might seem more expensive but means you can reduce spending on eating out in restaurants, as breakfast and evening meals are included in the price.
Find lift pass prices for the Three Valleys here. Skiing in France is one of the best value places to ski compared with the USA, Canada or Australia, with a huge number of top quality lifts and enormous ski area easily accessible on one ski pass.
How close are your chalets to the slopes/ski lifts?
Check each chalet in our collection (scroll back up to find them) for the distance to the slopes. All our chalets are within easy walking distance to the nearest slope or ski lift, which means we can keep our chalet prices lower by not including a driver service.
Do we book the whole chalet or can we just book a room?
Our pricing page shows by default the full chalet price for a 7-night stay.
But if you are a smaller group looking for one, two or three bedrooms, then please do get in touch as we can organise a shared chalet for you. As a guide, and if the pricing page shows the full chalet price for the dates you are looking at, the price per person based on two sharing is usually the full chalet price divided by the number of people it sleeps. For example, if Chalet Matisse Bas shows €7,400 then this price divided by 8 people is €925 per person.
Can we pay in pounds for our ski chalet?
It is possible to pay in € EUR or £ GBP for your ski holiday. See our Terms for more information about payments.
Is there a fixed arrival and departure day?
Our chalet arrival days are either Saturday or Sunday, and the usual stay is for 7 nights. If you have a different arrival day in mind then do please get in touch with our office who will be more than happy to answer your questions.
What if I have an allergy or dietary requirement?
Our chalet hosts cater for vegetarians as well as our guests with allergies and intolerances at no extra cost.
We do ask that you let us know as much information as possible prior to your arrival so that we can make sure that our hosts can adapt their menu accordingly, which you can do via direct email to our office, or through our online booking system.
Are flights and transfer included in the chalet price?
Ski Magic chalets do not include travel. Our guests have the flexibility to make the arrangements that best suit them, to travel from their regional airport to the nearest airport to the Three Valleys (usually Geneva, Grenoble, Lyon or Chambery), or by train.
We can collect and deliver your group to the nearest airport or train station as an optional extra service, so if you would like to add this to your booking, please do contact us.
